Foldables and tablets

On wide screens Flikzi splits into two halves, one for each thumb, with a number pad between them.

When it splits​

With Split keyboard set to Auto (the default), Flikzi splits whenever the screen is at least 600 dp wide: the inner screen of a book-style foldable, a tablet, or a phone in landscape. Fold the phone and it becomes one keyboard again.

The split layout​

  • Each half sits about one and a quarter keys in from the edge, where your thumbs reach.
  • The middle keys, g and n, are on both halves.
  • A honeycomb number pad fills the gap.
  • The keyboard takes at most a third of the screen height and never switches to full-screen text entry in landscape.

Change it​

Open Flikzi, Keyboard, Split keyboard: choose Auto, Always, or one keyboard in the middle. Key height adjusts the size if the keys feel small or large.
