Chinese pinyin

Flikzi types Simplified Chinese with pinyin. The engine and dictionary run on your phone.

Switch languages​

Flick the left space key up. The key shows the current language: EN or 中. Flick again to switch back. You can switch in the middle of a sentence.

Type​

  1. Type the pinyin without tones, for example nihao.
  2. The strip above the keys shows candidates: whole-sentence candidates first, then words.
  3. Tap one to commit it.

Choose in parts​

For long pinyin you can pick part of it. Type nihao, tap 你, and the strip moves on to candidates for hao.

Predictions​

After you commit, Flikzi suggests characters likely to come next. Tap one to keep going.

Punctuation and Enter​

  • Punctuation is full-width in Chinese mode: ，。！？
  • Enter commits the letters you typed as they are, which is handy for a quick English word.

Not supported​

Traditional Chinese, zhuyin (bopomofo), handwriting and double pinyin aren’t available.
