Switch on 日本語. The left space key shows あ.
Type
- Type in romaji: kyouhaiitenkidesune. The text shows kana as you go: きょうはいいてんきですね.
- The strip offers conversions: the whole sentence (今日はいい天気ですね), then words for all of it, hiragana, katakana, and words for its start.
- Space commits the first conversion. Enter commits the kana as they are.
Romaji tips
- nn, or n before a consonant, types ん: konnichiha → こんにちは, honn → ほん.
- A doubled consonant types っ: kitte → きって.
- - (hold h and slide right) types the long vowel ー: ko-hi- → コーヒー.
- x or l before a vowel types a small kana: xa → ぁ.
Choose in parts
Tap a candidate that covers only the start, and the rest stays for you to convert: tap 今日 and the strip moves on to はいいてんきですね.
English words
With English words in Chinese and Japanese on (the default), English words for the letters you typed appear among the candidates. When the letters can’t be romaji, or no Japanese word reads that way (hello), the English word comes first and space commits it.
