Capital letters

Flikzi has no shift key. There are three ways to get a capital.

Flick a letter up

Flick any letter key upwards and it types the capital. Straight up, up-left and up-right all work. The bubble above the key shows the capital before you let go.

Automatic capitals

Flikzi capitalises the first letter of every sentence, even in apps that don’t ask for it. It also fixes words that always take a capital when you press space: i becomes I, monday becomes Monday.

To turn sentence capitals off: open Flikzi, Typing, Capitalise sentences.

Capitalise a word afterwards

Flick the right space key up (it shows Aa). The word you’re typing, or the one you just finished, gets a capital first letter. Flick up again for ALL CAPS. Flick down (it shows aa) to step back: ALL CAPS, then Capital, then lower case.

It works on the word just before the cursor even after a space, comma or full stop. If you’ve selected text, every word in it changes, and the text stays selected so you can flick again.

Words with capitals inside, like iPhone, keep them: a flick up gives IPhone, not Iphone.

All caps

There’s no caps lock. Type the word, then flick the right space key up twice. For a short run of capitals, flick each letter up.
